A photo festival on tourism potential in the Red River delta will be held in Quang Ninh province at the end of August by Vietnam Photographers’ Association and the Quang Ninh provincial Association of Literature and Arts.
The festival will draw the participation of nine provinces to show photos highlighting the natural beauty, historical relics, culture, festivals, traditional handicrafts as well as the attractive aspects of socio-economic and cultural lives in localities in the Red River delta.

Photos must be taken in 2010 and 2011. Photos selected for awards will be shown at an exhibition and also published in a book.

The national boat racing competition 2011 will be hosted by the Mekong Delta province of Hau Giang from August 19 to 21 at Xa No Channel in Vi Thanh City.

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) has announced that the Cat Tien Biosphere Reserve was renamed the Dong Nai Biosphere Reserve.
