Forty rare photos of Ho Chi Minh go on show (24-09-2010 08:36:50)
An exhibition called “Memories of the First Independence Day” was held in Hanoi on September 21 to present a photo album of political events from 1945-1946, including 40 photos of President Ho Chi Minh.

The album was a gift from the Vietnamese administration to Mr Sellon, a former French captain working for the French High Commission Palace in Hanoi at the time. Mr Sellon handed over the album to French historian Philippe Devillers. Recently, Mr Devillers decided to give it to professor Phan Huy Le, Chairman of the Vietnam Historical Association.

According to Vietnamese historical researcher Duong Trung Quoc, the album is a valuable and precious collection, which will help people to get a better understanding of the period before and after the August Revolution as well as the memories of the first days of independence 65 years ago.
