According to Director of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Cao Dang Vinh, the festival 2010, which is named after President Ho’s birth place of Sen Village, is to express the nation’s respect and gratefulness to Uncle Ho and at the same time to promote the image of Nghe An to domestic and international friends.
A variety of activities will be held during the event from May 15-19.
A flower offering will be held at President Ho’s monument in Vinh City and his portraits paraded all the way from Vinh to Sen Village.
There will be photo and painting exhibitions as well as film screenings on the nation’s beloved leader. Twenty amateur art troupes will performed at the festival, and national and provincial sport competitions will take place.
On the occasion, the Ho Chi Minh National Politics Publishing House, the Party Central Committee for Education and Training and the National Academy of Politics and Administration on May 11 introduced new publications providing valuable documents on President Ho Chi Minh’s life, revolutionary cause and his example of morality.
